Refund policy
If you are not satisfied with items
- At MTC Kitchen, we are confident in the quality of our merchandise. However, if you are not satisfied with the item(s) you received, we accept returns within 30 days of delivery, as long as the item is unused and in its original condition. To initiate your return, please visit Start a Return.
- Refunds will be issued for the returned item(s) minus return shipping costs. Applicable state taxes will be credited. Original shipping charges are non‑refundable.
- Items shipped free are not eligible for free returns.
- We reserve the right to refuse used or broken items. Please keep the packing slip and include it with the return packages. Without proof of purchase, we are unable to accept any items for return or exchange.
- All items marked “Clearance”, Final Sale, Knife Saya Cover, and the following brands: Maruzen, Autec, Fujimak, Suzumo, Kubota, Hoshizaki may not be returned or exchanged.
If you receive damaged, defective, or incorrect items
- Please notify us through Start a Quality Claim within 1 week of delivery. Please include photos of any damaged, defective, or incorrect items, as well as a photo of the condition of the shipping box. We also ask that you keep all packaging and packing materials for future inspection of damaged items by the carrier.
- We address these on a case-by-case basis, but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.
- Any shipments replacing an incorrect item must be shipped to the order’s original shipping address only.
Refused Returns – Used or Ineligible Items
If a returned item is found to be used, missing original protective components, or otherwise not in its original condition, it will be ineligible for refund or exchange. In such cases:
- MTC Kitchen will notify the customer of the refusal by email.
- Any refused package or item can be shipped back to the customer at the customer’s expense.
- The customer must provide a prepaid return shipping label to MTC Kitchen within 14 days if they would like the item returned to you. We will provide the package size for you to create the return label.
- If no response is received within the timeframe, MTC Kitchen may consider the matter closed and cannot guarantee storage of the refused item.
- Return shipping costs for ineligible returns will not be covered by MTC Kitchen.
Food product disclaimer
We guarantee that you will be satisfied with the freshness and quality of this product and that it will be delivered to you within any applicable expiration dates. Food products can only be returned if the expiration date is within 30 days of delivery (The Japanese expiration date format is displayed as YY/MM/DD). Free return option
By paying $2.98 on your order at checkout, you will qualify for a return at no extra cost, allowing you to maximize your return by avoiding higher return shipping fees.
You must use the label we provide through the return process.
If you don't opt to pay the fee now, you can still initiate a return, but you will be responsible for the cost of the return shipping fee.
Certain items are excluded from the free return service.
Refund process
Upon receipt of your return or exchange, we will process your request within 3 business days. For returns, please allow up to 2 billing cycles for the refund to appear on your statement. If you would like to expedite the exchange process, please return your original item and place a new order for the item you want.
Return Process
STEP 1 : Initiate Returns
Please visit Start a returnpage. Enter your order number and shipping zip code or phone number, or email address, then click Get Started.
STEP 2 : Print Return Labels
If your return request is approved and requires shipping, print the return shipping label provided by us (*the cost of the return shipment will be deducted from your refund).
STEP 3 : Prepare Returns

Use a Strong Shipping Box
Use a sturdy box: Reuse our original shipping box and packing materials if available. Avoid using the product's retail box for shipping, as it isn't designed to protect items during transit.

Pack Fragile Items Properly
Wrap each item individually: Use bubble wrap, or newspaper to keep ceramics and fragile items safe. Ensure that items are not directly touching each other.
Add cushioning: Fill any empty spaces with packing peanuts or other void fillers to keep items secure.

Include Important Documents
Packing Slip & Return Form: Place these inside the box to help us process your return without delays.

Seal the Box Securely
Tape all seams: Use packing tape to seal all box flaps and seams tightly.

Attach the Return Label
Label on top: Place the return label on the top of the box. Cover it with clear packing tape to protect it from damage.

Check Stability
Test for movement: Shake the box gently to make sure nothing is shifting. If items are moving, add more packing material until they are stable.

Prevent Damage Responsibility
Proper packing is required: If the box isn't properly packed and items are damaged during shipping, you will be responsible for the loss. Please take care to follow the guidelines.
