This is a white steel kasumi style takohiki that Sakai Takayuki is very proud of. Each knife is carefully crafted by the blacksmiths in Sakai City, which is one of the most famous cities for knife forging in Japan. Experience the harmonious balance between the cutting edge and flexibility of this takohiki made for professional use.

Takohiki Knife

The takohiki is the fish-slicing knife like the yanagi, but a style that hails from Japan’s Kanto region (Tokyo). Like the yanagi, the length of the takohiki and the sharpness of its single bevel blade allow chefs to make one smooth pull to cleanly slice raw fish and seafood without bruising or producing rough surfaces.

Warning: Carbon steel knives will rust if not maintained properly. Use the Tsukiji Masamoto or Sabitohru Rust Remover to clean oxidized blades.
