About Hakusan Porcelain
Hakusan Porcelain Co, Ltd. was founded in 1951 in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture in Japan, a town well known for its 400 years of history in producing porcelain called Hasami-yaki. Their origin actually goes back all the way to 1779 when their predecessor’s kiln was first established. Hakusan has commercialized the Hasami-yaki industry making their goods not only modern but also functional.
Hakusan's origin and philosophy stands behind creating "products which can fit people's lives." and that are "comfortable for people to use."
Hakusan’s design concept is to produce tableware that isn’t too lavish but also not ordinary; seems new but also not influenced by trends so that their products can be enjoyed for decades. and improve the quality of life for people using it.
Their designs and high quality are born from the perspective of the everyday lives of the people and imagining how their goods can improve their quality of life. Hakusan Porcelain born from this perspective have earned many awards, including the Good Design Award and the Long-Life Design Award.
