Classic Japanese cuisine is quite unique from others around the world. Expert chefs would go to great lengths to demonstrate one’s skill through intricate knife work and aesthetic plating presentations, for which specialized culinary tools are used. And now, along with Japanese culinary arts reaching the international scene, these specialized tools and serving ware are finding a brand new base of devoted users.
Browsing through the MTC KITCHEN site, you’ll see from everyday handy time-saving “must have” tools, hard to find items, to one-of- a-kind artisan pieces. Through regular visits, we wish you a world of culinary discoveries that’s inspirational and fun.
Bringing the Flavors of Japan to the People of the World
Chairman, Mutual Trading Company
The expansion of the Japanese food industry has been incredible. While the number of Japanese restaurants in the US in 2005 reached less than ten thousand, in 2010 the total had grown to over fourteen thousand. The latest count in early 2012 extended to over seventeen thousand, a true reflection of the industry’s strength and vast popularity.
Established in 1926, Mutual Trading has been importing and distributing Japanese foods, sake and commercial use kitchen equipment, all focused on developing the Japanese foodservice trade.
